Support disaster relief efforts in California and Kerala, India

Vanguard Charitable has confirmed that the organizations listed below are supporting relief efforts for areas affected by the recent natural disasters and has expedited the granting process so that your contribution can be put to use as quickly as possible. To support these charities or others:

  1. Log in to your online philanthropic account.

  2. ‚ÄčOn the Account summary page, click Recommend a grant.

  3. Select the charity to which you would like to recommend a grant. If the organization is not saved
    to your saved charities list, click “Add a new charity” to search GuideStar search by EIN to find the organization.

  4. Choose the specific grant purpose titled Disaster Relief in the third step of the
    grant recommendation process.

Throughout 2018, over 1 million acres of land have been devastated by wildfires.1 Local communities are struggling and at least 10 people have been killed.2 Relief efforts are underway to help address immediate needs for victims, such as food and shelter, as well as establish infrastructure for long-term relief efforts.

The organization is currently accepting donations at their Northern and Southern locations to support supplies for victims and disaster relief workers, as they have deployed several teams to evacuation centers.

The organization is currently accepting donations at their Northern and Southern locations to support supplies for victims and disaster relief workers, as they have deployed several teams to evacuation centers.

Shasta Regional Community Foundation 68-0242276 The organization is accepting donations for the Community Disaster Relief Fund, which will focus on short and long-term relief efforts.

 

 

 

Kerala, India

Officials in India are calling the Kerala flooding the worst in a century,3 where nearly 400 people have died and more than one million people have been displaced.4  As rains begin to ease, efforts are increasing to provide relief, supplies, and shelter to those affected.

They are ensuring families have access to healthcare by conducting health camps in the three most affected districts and providing medicine and medical supplies to hospitals and health centers to meet the needs of survivors.

The organization is on the ground and is focusing their response on the most affected and marginalized people. They are set to open five child-friendly spaces to provide a place for children to take part in therapeutic activities and games, regain a sense of normalcy and be with their friends.

Give2Asia is now mobilizing direct support to local organizations in their trusted partner network that are engaged in recovery efforts helping those on the ground.

Sewa International Inc. 20-0638718

The organization is involved in rescue and relief operations by distributing food packets and cooking kits, opening free kitchens, and providing medical help through medical camps. There is an urgent need for water purifiers, packed food, utensils, blankets, seasonal clothing, first aid kits, toiletries, flashlights, water bottles, mosquito mats/nets, backpacks, etc.
