Morocco Earthquake: How to support the disaster relief efforts

On Friday night, September 8, an earthquake struck Morocco. With a magnitude of 6.8, this powerfully destructive force left buildings and homes toppled while most Moroccans slept, unable to react quickly. While the region has known many small earthquakes, this is the first quake of such a high magnitude in over 120 years.
Since Friday, nearly 3,000 people have been reported dead. Thousands more have been injured due to the disaster. And while the earthquake only lasted seconds, the recovery efforts will require years of work.
In collaboration with Charity Navigator, Vanguard Charitable created the below list of nonprofits. These are trustworthy organizations that are helping those affected by this disaster. You may also choose to recommend a grant to an international charity through Charities Aid Foundation of America (CAF America), an industry leader in international granting. To do so simply recommend a grant2 to CAF America, EIN 43-1634280, and choose the specific purpose Other. Then click Add Additional Comments and write in your preferred international charity and, if applicable, a specific area of support. (For example, "CARE International.")
