As the highest value donor-advised fund, we are always on the lookout for ways to lower the cost of charitable giving. As of September 30, 2021, we’ve reduced our administrative fees for all accounts with assets totaling $1 million or more. This fee reduction is projected to create over $1 million for charitable giving each year. 

How did the fees change? 

This substantial fee reduction also introduces a significant price break within the $5M asset tier. In alignment with Vanguard’s low-cost philosophy and our continued commitment to lower fees, we strive to support our mission by helping you reach yours.

Why are we relentless in our pursuit of lower fees? 

Lower fees mean more dollars for charitable giving. The less you spend on fees and expenses, the more money that’s available to support the causes you care most about. Combined with past administrative fee reductions—in both 2018 and 2019—this fee reduction demonstrates our continual commitment to creating more money for charity. It also serves our mission to increase philanthropy by reducing the cost of giving so we can help you better meet your philanthropic goals.

What does the administrative fee provide? 

Our administrative fee provides you access to knowledgeable staff, in-depth due diligence, advanced research tools, such as NAVi, the Candid Nonprofit Directory, and access to your online account portal for all account activities. 

Premier account status 

This fee reduction is focused on the accounts with Premier status. Accounts with assets totaling more than $1 million may be eligible for Premier status and additional benefits. This status level is subject to Vanguard Charitable's approval and is based on account balance, activity, and patterns. To learn more about Premier benefits, visit our Premier page.
