Contributing made easier

Our mission is to increase philanthropy and maximize its impact over time—and we value our donors' time. Vanguard and Vanguard Charitable have partnered to make giving assets from your Vanguard accounts seamless. By linking your Vanguard and Vanguard Charitable accounts, you are able to initiate contributions to Vanguard Charitable directly from vanguard.com.

Link your accounts. This is a one-time process.
Log in to vanguardcharitable.org
- Log in to vanguardcharitable.org.
- Navigate to the Make a contribution page.
- Select Asset held at Vanguard.
- Click on I am eligible for electronic authorization.
Generate your access key
- Click the link to generate your access key.
- After you copy the access key, click Take me to vanguard.com.
- This unique key will be used to link your vanguard.com and vanguardcharitable.org accounts.
Log in to vanguard.com
- Log in to vanguard.com.
- Click the Documents & statements icon then Tax forms & information.
- Scroll down and click The Vanguard Philanthropic Center.
- On the next page, select Start Donation and enter your Vanguard Charitable user ID and access key to finish linking.
Vanguard Charitable account information will not be visible to Vanguard representatives when accounts are linked. A Vanguard representative who has authorization from you to process a transaction on your behalf will be able to view your Vanguard Charitable account balance and investment allocation through the Vanguard Philanthropic Center as they assist you with entering the transaction. Vanguard Charitable will not have access to any Vanguard account information beyond what is needed to complete the transaction unless authorized by the donor. For more information visit our FAQs.
Once your accounts are linked, you can log in to vanguard.com to start contributing.
Log in to vanguard.com, choose My Accounts, select Tax Center, then scroll down and click The Vanguard Philanthropic Center to initiate contributions from eligible Vanguard accounts to your Vanguard Charitable philanthropic account(s). Selecting your investment allocation for the contribution and cost basis will be done directly on vanguard.com.
Please note that if you are contributing from a joint or trust account, there will be an additional step to have all account owners consent electronically.
Maintenance fee may be applied
Accounts having a balance below $25,000 may be subject to an annual maintenance fee of $250.
