Charities providing humanitarian relief in Israel and Gaza Strip

On October 7, 2023, Hamas carried out a militant attack on Israeli civilians. Since the attack, violence in the area continues to escalate, causing a humanitarian crisis for millions of people in affected communities in Israel and the Gaza Strip.
Based on nonprofits recommended by Charity Navigator, Vanguard Charitable created the following list of vetted, highly rated charities. This list is not exhaustive. These organizations are providing humanitarian relief to the people impacted by the conflict. After the attack, JDC immediately activated their emergency response team. They're providing variety of services, including expanded mental health interventions, emergency support for people with disabilities, and help for small businesses in southern Israel.
|American Committee for Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem|
The hospital, Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, is taking in many of the people injured by the initial attack and ongoing conflict. Funds will support the hospital in caring for patients as impacted communities recover from the violence.
|Middle East Childrens Alliance|
MECA's team is on the ground in Gaza responding to the most urgent needs of children and families. They are providing resources, including clean water, food, medical aid, and more.
|American Near East Refugee Aid|
|ANERA is working to provide immediate aid to those in need in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. Funds will go to providing affected communities with resources, such as blood bags for medical relief and food parcels.|
|These nonprofits are not accepting funds that are restricted to a specific relief effort. When you give funds to one of these nonprofits, your funds will support people affected by humanitarian crises somewhere in the world.|

|UNRWA provides aid to Palestinian refugees. Donations will help the organization deliver medical care, food, and other life-saving services to those in Gaza.|
|Center for Disaster Philanthropy**|
|The Center for Disaster Philanthropy responds to disasters with a focus on investing well in communities to create the largest, most effective impact. Their focus is on long-term recovery for those affected.|
|American Friends of Magen David Adom|
|Magen David Adom provides disaster relief, ambulance, and blood services. During this time, their resources are even more necessary. Fund will go to supporting the efforts of MDA to provide medical relief to those in Israel in need of aid.|
|Friends of United Hatzalah**|
|Funds granted to the United Hatzalah will support their community-based volunteer emergency medical services work that's helping those in need in Israel during the conflict.|
|Palestine Children's Relief Fund|
|The newest rounds of bombing in Gaza have left children suffering and in need of basic necessities and urgent medical attention. Donations to PCRF will help the organization continue their important relief work.|
|Americares provides both immediate relief and ongoing recovery efforts with a focus on medical aid.|
|IsraAID Global Humanitarian Assistance|
|IsraAID is partnering with local and civil society organizations to provide urgent aid to vulnerable communities and evacuees.|
|Islamic Relief USA|
|Islamic Relief will continue its work of over two decades to support families in Gaza who need emergency aid. From food and clean water to education and help for children with disabilities, Islamic Relief will be working to provide relief to affected communities.|
|Jewish National Fund, USA|
|The Jewish National Fund is working to both evacuate families from the Gaza border to safer places and provide supplies and services to those in need.|
|Save the Children Federation**|
|Save the Children provides food, blankets, and other necessities to children in need. The organization also supports health workers on the front lines.|
|Oxfam provides disaster relief with a focus on helping the most vulnerable. Their mission is to fight injustice and inequity. They work with local partners to assess the needs of those affected.|
|International Rescue Committee|
|The IRC serves people upended by conflict to help them recover and rebuild after disaster. They will continue to provide ongoing support to affected civilian populations.|
