In September 2023, Storm Daniel caused widespread flash flooding and destruction in Libya, with over 5,000 lives lost. Up to 10,000 people are reported missing, and entire neighborhoods have disappeared after aging dams collapsed. 

Your Vanguard Charitable donor-advised fund (DAF) is a flexible and efficient method to provide immediate support in circumstances like these. In collaboration with Charity Navigator, Vanguard Charitable created the below list of highly-rated nonprofits actively involved in disaster relief and recovery efforts in the region. If the organization is not in your saved charities’ list, type the charity name, region, or interest area in the search bar under Find a charity. Once found, save the charity by clicking on the star and then click select to begin the granting process.

To do so simply recommend a grant² to CAF America, EIN 43-1634280, and choose the specific purpose Other. Then click Add Additional Comments and write in your preferred international charity and, if applicable, a specific area of support. (For example, "Libyan Helping Hands.")
